This two-session virtual course will help you develop an understanding of labor, the birth process, and postpartum recovery. Coping skills include breathing and relaxation techniques and guided imagery exercises. Medical considerations will be discussed. Immediate newborn care and breastfeeding will be briefly discussed.
You should complete your classes approximately one month before your due date (earlier with twins).
Classes will be held virtually via WebEx. A computer or smartphone is required to attend these virtual sessions.
Please consider registering for our Newborn Essentials class, which addresses the first six weeks of your newborn’s life, our Ready for Breastfeeding class, which will help ensure a smooth start for you and baby, and our Infant/Child Safety and CPR class, which is a non-certification course that teaches adults to perform CPR on infants and children up to the age of eight.
Please only register one attendee. Partners are welcome and encouraged to attend. You do not need to register them.
Classes will be held in person at South Shore Hospital's OB Classrooms A & B, located on the second floor of the Hospital. Please enter via the McKim Family Main Entrance and to speak to our concierge team and be directed to the class.
Please check your junk mail folder if you do not receive an email confirmation within one hour of registering.
