What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your current health insurance information, a list of any current medications, and your completed Adult or Pediatric Health History form.

Additionally, prior to your visit, please contact your insurance provider (if required) to inform them you've selected a new primary care provider. You can find the contact number for Member Services on your insurance card.

What about my current prescriptions?

Prior to your first visit with us, we encourage you to contact your previous primary care provider and request refills for any prescriptions you may need prior to your first appointment with us.

During your first appointment, you can review your current prescriptions and discuss any concerns or questions with your South Shore Medical Center provider.

Can I complete any other paperwork ahead of time?

Yes! By registering for South Shore Health MyChart, you can use MyChart's Pre-Check In feature to fill out required questionnaires, verify information, and pay your copay (if required).

See below for additional information on how to register for a MyChart account.

If you have any trouble registering for MyChart, please contact our help desk at 781-261-4480.

Helpful Information for Patients

We are open seven days a week, 363 days per year (we are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas).

Hours and days of operation vary by location. To view hours by location, please visit the webpages for our Kingston, Norwell, and Quincy practices.

We recommend that patients arrive 15 minutes prior to a scheduled appointment to allow time for registration and to complete any paperwork required.

If you anticipate that you may arrive late to your appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible.

We offer same-day urgent care appointments in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics.

Appointments are required for all same-day urgent care visits; we do not offer walk-in care. Patients can schedule a same-day visit online via South Shore Health MyChart or by calling 781-878-5200.

In the event that no same-day appointments are available, we do our best to get patients seen as soon as possible.

Additionally, patients can access walk-in urgent care at Health Express, part of South Shore Health, with six convenient South Shore locations.

We offer on-site lab services in Kingston, Norwell, and Quincy. Medical Center patients can also access lab services at The Women's Center of South Shore Medical Center practices in Plymouth, Weymouth, and Whitman.

Orders are required for all lab work. Patients can check the status of lab orders in their South Shore Health MyChart account.

We do not schedule appointments for standard blood draws or specimen drop-offs. Patients with lab orders can simply walk in at the most convenient location to access the services they need.
