Thank you for your interest in running the 123rd Boston Marathon on April 15, 2019 with Team SSHS! The 2019 South Shore Health System "Run SSHS" Boston Marathon Team supports our comprehensive cancer care program. Each year, more than 1,000 new patients seek care at our Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital. Marathon funds supports the latest diagnostic technology, advanced surgical procedures, comprehensive inpatient care and access to clinical trials, new therapies and expert clinicians. We’ve developed a comprehensive program supporting you in your fundraising and your training and we are excited to read your application.

Marathon Coalition

For the second year, we have partnered with the Marathon Coalition to further support our runners. The Marathon Coalition training program customizes training to meet each individual runner’s needs and goals. Through this partnership, members of Team SSHS will receive an individualized comprehensive marathon training program with the support of professional running coaches. Training runs are scheduled every Saturday morning on parts of the Marathon course. Through this relationship, our team members will also have the opportunity to learn from and train with runners from other Boston Marathon charities in the program.

In addition to the support of the Marathon Coalition, Team SSHS members are fully supported in their fundraising efforts by the South Shore Health System Foundation Staff.
