One in five women will develop anxiety and/or depression during pregnancy or after giving birth. South Shore Health is here to help. We provide comprehensive medication management and short-term therapy for women during pregnancy, postpartum, and for up to two years of parenting.

Our goal is to help you make the best choices for you and your baby by providing the most up-to-date information about taking medication during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding.

The Perinatal Behavioral Health Program also includes the SHORE Program, which provides care for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders (SUD). You must be at least 18 years old to participate in our SUD treatment program.

Our Approach

After providing individual care plans for pregnant and postpartum women—for up to three years after giving birth—the team then provides referrals for other community-based services that will help you manage for the long term.

Since launching our program in late 2018, we've helped hundreds of South Shore mothers manage their behavioral health needs while keeping their baby's health front of mind.

The perinatal behavioral health program is part of the Grayken Center for Treatment at South Shore Health. We see patients from Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM-4 PM at 797 Main Street, Weymouth.

Conditions We Treat:

  • Anxiety
  • Mood disorders (Bipolar, Depression)
