Each month, South Shore Health gives the Colleague Spotlight Award to a colleague who demonstrates exemplary behaviors, actions, and/or work practices that reflect the values of South Shore Health.

We're pleased to announce that Jerry Pike is the recipient of the Colleague Spotlight Award for October!

Jerry has worked in Respiratory Care at South Shore Health for 47 years and is currently a respiratory therapist at South Shore Hospital.

Recently, Jerry received the Emmanuel Makros Respiratory Therapist of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Society for Respiratory Care.

Along with being experienced in a number of different aspects of respiratory care, Jerry is known as a mentor to new caregivers in the field.

"He supports the students," said Pamela Evans, Supervisor, Respiratory Care. "I think that's probably the biggest thing, how much Jerry supports the students. He always takes time to talk with them, to tell them stories, to educate them."

Thank you, Jerry, for your dedication to our patients and for your ongoing support of our students!
