Susan C Martin, MD, MPH

I grew up on the South Shore and consider it a privilege to care for those in my own community. Initially employed in the investment field, I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine while on a service trip to Appalachia. This led to further volunteer work in Latin America and work for a Boston-based organization serving the indigenous population of Ecuador. I pursued my medical degree and masters of public health at Tufts where I was an Albert Schweitzer fellow, creating a parenting program for women living with their children in a transitional shelter in East Boston. I completed my training at Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center while raising my two children.

My philosophy is to provide exceptional evidence-based medical care to my patients, from birth to young adulthood with compassion and in partnership with their families. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and in nature, hiking and kayaking.
