Head & Neck

The Cancer Center’s comprehensive program of care enable patients who are suspected or have been diagnosed with tumors of the oral cavity, pharynx & larynx, thyroid/parathyroid tumors, salivary gland tumors, as well as cutaneous malignancies of the head and neck. Care is coordinated by an interdisciplinary team of highly experienced clinicians representing numerous specialties, including head and neck surgery; medical and radiation oncology; reconstructive surgery; speech, voice, and swallowing therapies; among others. 

All specialists involved in the evaluation and management of head and neck cancers work together to determine the optimal course of treatment for each patient. An experienced oncology-certified clinical nurse navigator will help to coordinate seamless care on behalf of the patient.
 

The term "head and neck cancers" refers to a broad category of cancers occurring in the head or neck region, including:

  • Nasal cavity
  • Sinuses
  • Mouth and lips (commonly referred to as oral cancer)
  • Salivary glands
  • Throat
  • Tonsils
  • Larynx
