Clinicians meet daily in our “Safety Hub” within South Shore Hospital’s Center 2 classroom to resolve matters related to patient quality and safety. Briefings lasting about 15 minutes take place at 9 am and 4:30 pm. Safety Hub leaders include Karen Baxter, RN, director/risk prevention; Noreen Maclean, RN, patient safety officer; and Kathy Melvin, RN, manager/clinical informatics.
Colleagues may visit the Safety Hub to report concerns and/or to participate in initiatives to improve processes and workflows.
In addition, a Safety Call takes place daily at 8:30 a.m. Any colleague may listen-in. Please mute your phone unless you have a matter you would like to discuss.
