Hospice of the South Shore, the first Medicare-Certified Hospice program in the region, has been providing the highest quality hospice and palliative care services for patients since 1980. Our patient-and-family-centered approach is based on love, compassion, and genuine caring. It embraces the whole person and encompasses the physical, spiritual and emotional aspects of care.
We care for all terminally ill patients regardless of the diagnosis. Hospice of the South Shore will work closely with your physician to determine eligibility. Our team will also travel to wherever you are – whether that is your home, an assisted living or skilled nursing facility.
Hospice of the South Shore is led by a medical director who provides expertise to the team to ensure the highest quality care for our patients. In conjunction with the patient’s primary physician, the hospice care team works closely with patients, their family, and caregivers to create individualized plans to aggressively manage symptoms with the goal of keeping patients comfortable and at home.
Our hospice care team also provides support to family members or loved ones who serve as the primary caregivers for the patient. Our team is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency consultations, support and skilled nursing visits.
