Can I use the South Shore Hospital name and logo to promote my fundraiser?

Yes. The South Shore Hospital’s name and South Shore Health System Foundation’s logo may be used in conjunction with your fundraiser. Please contact the South Shore Health System Foundation office to obtain an electronic file. Prior to use, please be sure to submit for approval all materials on which you would like the logo to appear.

Can you help promote my fundraiser?

Yes. As soon as you complete a Community Fundraising Form, we are happy to help promote your effort to the SSHS community. We’ll include the information on our website, our social media outlets and list it in our employee newsletter “E-splash”. 

Can you provide me with a contact list of people who may be interested?

No. We cannot provide mailing lists of donors, physicians, staff or vendors, as it is our policy to keep this information private.

Who will help run my fundraiser and solicit items/gifts?

The SSHS Foundation staff will be able to provide guidance. However, due to staff and time constraints, we are unable to manage your fundraiser for you. We recommend that you form a committee of friends, family and others who are excited about your cause. They will play an important role in providing support during your fundraiser and throughout your planning.

Can I have a raffle at my fundraiser?

Yes. Raffles and auctions are a great way to raise money. Massachusetts has strict regulations governing raffles and gaming events carried out for charitable purposes. If you would like to obtain more information about the rules governing raffles and “games of chance” in Massachusetts, please visit

Who will pay my event expenses?

The event organizers are responsible for covering all expenses for their event and will not be reimbursed. Your event costs can be deducted from the funds raised prior to sending the donation to SSHS.

Can I designate part of the proceeds from my event to another organization?

Yes. Please be sure to include this information on your registration form. If there is more than one beneficiary, please clearly state the percentage of the proceeds that will benefit SSH on all advertising, promotional and print material.

How should I submit gifts I receive in support of my fundraiser?

  • It is most desirable for the foundation to receive one check from your effort.  If you have received additional gifts, please collect all checks and money orders payable to South Shore Health System and mail them to the South Shore Health System Foundation, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA.
  • Cash donations should be hand delivered to the South Shore Health System Foundation office located at 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA
  • South Shore Health System will acknowledge/receipt all donors whose gift is made payable directly to SSHS
  • If gifts made are associated with a raffle, silent or live auction, proper documentation should be attached outlining donor name, item received and the benefit value of the item so we are able to receipt them accordingly.
